Our Managing Director, Ceri Jennings, and Admin Manager Sarah Baker, attended the Real Living Wage event in the Norwegian Church. This event celebrated with employers across Wales and highlighted how to support fair pay and a more equal economy.

Living Wage Week is a time to recognise employers committed to paying wages that meet the real cost of life. At Sparkles Cleaning, we’re proud to be part of this movement. By supporting our amazing team with fair pay that reflects the value of their work. Being a Living Wage employer is an honour, and events like these inspire us to keep driving positive change.

This week is the annual celebration of the  movement. 12.9% of employees are still paid well below this.  This year we are recognising the employers taking ‘A Step beyond’ by becoming Living Wage accredited. It’s never been more important with 50% of employees paid below the real Living Wage saying they are financially worse off than a year ago.

94% of  businesses say they’ve benefited since accrediting. So if you’re already accredited, this is the perfect opportunity for you to promote your Living Wage accreditation to staff, stakeholders and the public. Overall, the accreditation is good for businesses, individuals, and society as a whole.

It’s good for business too.

When speaking to our Living Hours network, they report seeing improved recruitment and retention, productivity and the increased ability to differentiate themselves from competitors and win business.

The Living Hours accreditation allows employers to demonstrate their ongoing commitment to providing decent work and can enhance your responsible business strategy. It demonstrates to customers, clients, investors and peers that you are one of the UK’s leading organisations on decent work.
